World Mental Health Day recognizes the need for global mental health education, awareness, and advocacy against social stigma. In honor of the day, the UAA Center for Human Development's Alaska Training Cooperative is offering a Mental Health First Aid course FREE to the public, a $100 value!
The Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority and the Alaska Department of Health's Office of Substance Misuse and Addiction Prevention sponsor the course. Join us!
Mental Health First Aid is a certification course that teaches people how to recognize signs of mental health or substance use challenges in adults ages 18 and older, how to offer and provide initial help, and how to guide a person toward appropriate care if necessary. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, trauma, psychosis, addictions, and all associated crises.
